Engineer - Mining

Due to the continuous growth and strengthening of our position Australia wide, Macmahon has several opportunities for experienced Mining Engineers. Reporting to the Mining Manager, you will be required to develop and implement mine designs and schedules in line with the production requirements.

About the Role
•    Develop, implement, and ensure safe and efficient work practices to ensure maximum optimisation is reached, and sustainable operations meet target
•    Maintain and ensure reports are kept up to date whilst identifying opportunities for improvement and cost savings
•    Reconciliation of actuals against mine plan, assumptions, and benchmarks
•    Present weekly plans clearly and concisely to colleagues to communicate critical paths, risks and opportunities
•    Ensure all relevant documents are submitted efficiently and accurately on time for processing
•    Perform applications to determine methods, equipment selection, facilities, costs, and staff requirements
•    Assist with the daily, weekly, and monthly reporting against KPS’s and budgets
•    Build positive working relationships with both internal and external parties

About you
•    Tertiary qualifications in Mining or Civil Engineering, or comparable degree with 2+ years’ experience
•    Experience working in an open cut coal; mining environment preferred
•    The ability to develop dig plans whilst considering pit design, ground conditions, environmental constraints and access
•    Demonstrated sound working knowledge of CAD software such as Vulcan or other mine design software
•    Scheduling experience will be highly regarded
•    Commitment to safety and the environment
•    Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Byerwen Mine is located approximately 20kms west of the town of Glenden in the northern Bowen Basin and is Macmahon’s largest project on the east coast. Full camp facilities are available – accommodation and meals provided.
