About the role
Perth Operations Planning – Drill & Blast design centre is hiring a Mining Engineer (Drill & Blast) to join the team. This role is a great opportunity to be responsible for on time delivery of drill and blast engineering designs that comply to required standards and controls and deliver optimised blast outcomes. You will be working closely with the drill blast subject matter experts in the Drill & Blast Engineering team.
Reporting to the Superintendent Drill & Blast, you will:
Drill & Blast engineering designs aligning with weekly mine schedules and priorities
Contributing to high value projects within drill & blast engineering and operations at PMO level.
Contribute towards;
Drill and blast design process improvement
Effective PDCA (plan-Do-Check-Act) = Post Blast assessment
Continuous improvement (Quality, quantity)
D&B vibration model data
What you will bring
Analytical and Problem-Solving: Strong skills in analysing complex mining scenarios and crafting effective solutions.
Communication: Excellent ability to communicate complex technical data to varied audiences, ensuring clarity and actionable insights.
Business process: strong understanding of business planning process and inputs from mine scheduling.
Drill and blast design fundamentals preferred
Vulcan and blasting software experience is preferred

Where you’ll be working
You will be Perth based with opportunity to work flexibly from home combined with time in our Central Park offices. Our wider team is spread across a combination of Perth and Pilbara sites.
