ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is a Permanent, full-time position on a 5/2,4/3 day fortnight at our Boddington Bauxite Mine, which is located a short drive from the community of Boddington (10 minutes), Pinjarra (50 minutes) and the City of Mandurah (1 hour).
This position is a drive in drive out role with no camp facilities, however buses do run from Mandurah and Armadale.
As the Mining Engineer, you will use your engineering expertise to develop planning and enabling activities to support mine planning with clear guidance, ensuring production targets are met while upholding HSECQ standards.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
- Delivery of enabling activities to support integrated mine plans through interaction with approvals, heritage and environmental teams.
- Development of optimised rehabilitation plans and pre-mining pit development activities in line with forecast and schedules.
- Identification of key risks, events and key enabling activities (development path) supporting medium term tactical mine plans.
- Detailed review of forecast mine schedules and physicals.
- Collaboration with stakeholders to establish endorsement for annual medium-term mining budgets and planning physicals.
- Analysis and reporting to ensure compliance with regulatory approvals.
- Support Medium Term Mine Planner in preparing scheduling input data, including operating, capital, labour forecasts and budgets.
ABOUT YOU
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- Experience in strategic and short/medium-term mine planning is valued.
- A focus on safety and a passion for continuous improvement.
- Proven capability to operate in a complex, dynamic environment with ability to build strong working relationships with stakeholders.
- Familiarity with mine design and scheduling software (e.g., Maptek Vulcan, RPM MinePlanner, DESWIK and ESRI ArcGIS Pro) is an advantage.
- Previous experience in a similar role, particularly in open-cut mining, is preferred.
- Attention to detail and strong communication skills are essential.
Qualifications for this position are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering (or similar engineering discipline)
