About the role

We are looking for an experienced Engineer Mining Systems to provide technical support and specialist service for Mining Systems applications. As the preferred candidate of this role, you will act as the interface between site-based, Operations Centre based teams and the wider stakeholder groups to ensure that ongoing user requirements are delivered, along with management of the various technologies at the different sites is being performed in a consistent and professional manner.
This role is a great opportunity for a strong customer focused individual to support cutting edge mining technology and develop a range of technical skills. Reporting to the Superintendent Mining Systems and working in a collaborative and exciting environment you will:
- Provide general technical support and process improvements for Mining System Applications which include Dispatch, Minecare, Caterpillar Terrain, MineStar Command, MineStar Fleet & Health, and In-pit WAN including AVI, LTE UE devices
- Provide specialist service and SME suggestion in areas of production execution and improvement to IS&T and Iron Ore based internal teams and external vendors
- Identify issues and suggest improvements to current Mining Applications and Mine Monitoring and Control platforms to internal and external stakeholders
- Deliver SQL database management, document management and creation
- Contribute to the department’s Mining systems knowledge base
- Be involved in vendor liaising, account management and improvement
What you’ll bring
- Commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
- In-pit Mining experience
- Experience with Mining System Applications such as AHS, ADS, Asset Health, FMS and Machine Guidance experience
- Understanding of network technology, server and VM architecture
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and Influencing skills
- Understanding of financial management with the ability to manage vendor licensing and account management, invoicing, budgeting and reviewing changes
- Standards development, knowledge management, and business improvement skills
It would also be beneficial if you have:
- Relevant tertiary qualification
- Previous exposure to BI and project work
