About the Role
Reporting to the Signals and On-board Lead in the Rail Engineering GTS team, you will be responsible for providing solutions, expert guidance and technical support in the Railroad department specialising in the field of Rail On-board Control, Asset Protection and Monitoring Systems.
You will also govern standards for Rail across a broad range of areas, ensure changes are managed through the change and configuration management process and are commissioned without unplanned safety and business impacts.
Additional responsibilities will include:
- Ensure engineering solutions are identified to address reliability issues and reduce system faults;
- Ensure project-engineering designs meet the design standards and are the right solution for the business;
- Provide technical input on Rail systems strategies and lifecycle requirements;
- Provide technical input into planned growth, technology and optimisation projects to ensure business capability is met;
- Ensure compliance to governance documents and processes.
About You
As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:
- Tertiary qualification in Electrical, Electronics, Systems, Communications, or relevant trade/technical or industry experience;
- Demonstrated technical and professional skills with rail systems, including experience in wayside asset protection or on-board rolling stock systems,
- Ability to communicate confidently at all levels and establish a good rapport with a diverse range of people, both internal and external, is essential.
- Excellent written skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to critically review plans, specifications, drawings and documentation.
- C Class driver’s license.
