About the role

This is a full-time permanent opportunity.

Reporting to the Superintendent Process Control and Automation (PCA), you will provide specialised engineering and technical support to the mine sites for all operation technology requirements. You will be responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of operational technology used at IMC including designing, implementing, and maintaining the OT infrastructure to support mining operations.

Key accountabilities:

• Identify and implement new technologies to improve efficiency, productivity, and safety
• Implement enhancements and extensions for OT systems
• Work with the business users to understand functional requirements and translate into technical requirements
• Contribute to the delivery of OT projects
• Deliver training and support to end users

About you

You will have demonstrated knowledge, understanding and application of OT engineering within the mining or similar industrial environment. Safety will be at the forefront of everything you do.

In addition, you will have:

• Bachelor of Engineering – Computer, Communications, Electrical or equivalent
• Knowledge and expertise with industrial networking
• Experience with OT communication protocols including Modbus and OPC
• Knowledge of SCADA/HMI and PLC control systems
• Proficient in technical languages such as SQL, scripting and Python
• Understanding of Cloud platforms such as Azure
• Exposure to presentation layer platforms such as Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) desirable

Location

This position will be based at the Regional Operations Centre, Port Kembla Coal Terminal in Wollongong, NSW.
