About The RoleWe are looking for an Engineer - Port & Coastal to provide specialist technical engineering oversight and support to the Dampier and Cape Lambert Iron ore ports. This role will include overseeing the planning, execution and close-out of marine maintenance tasks and actively promoting safe work practices and compliance across the sites.This role is suited to a highly motivated individual who is passionate about being part of the solution, driving positive outcomes of programmes and has a desire to develop their knowledge in Port & Coastal Engineering.Reporting to the Senior Port Engineer, you will
Develop and continually refining, plus efficiently manage the maintenance of our marine assets whilst mitigating safety and business risks. Our assets include our shipping channel and aids to navigation, metocean instruments and wharf infrastructure;
Develop and execute high quality project scopes with clear technical specifications;
Marine/Port Coastal engineering assistance to planning and marine operations teams;
Provide contract and project management oversight throughout the project cycles;
Marine Technical Systems management including providing design advice, coordinating system upgrades and developing training packages to ensure end users derive full value from systems;
Liaise with port authorities and other regulators and stakeholders on relevant marine matters;
Assist in developing marine operational plans, procedures and parameters.
About YouTo be successfully considered for this role, you will have
An Engineering degree (minimum qualification of a Bachelor’s degree), preferably related to civil, ocean or coastal engineering;
Prior experience in a port or coastal environment preferred;
Experience as a qualified engineer in a relevant field covering asset management, project management and technical experience;
MSIC Card or eligibility to obtain one;
The ability to communicate effectively, work and interact with others in a dynamic environment;
C Class licence.
Where you’ll be workingYou will benefit from the vibrant coastal location working a 9-day fortnight.Our port facilities consist of four shipping terminals located on the Pilbara coast at Dampier and Cape Lambert which form an essential part of our logistics process. Each terminal has facilities for train unloading, iron ore stockpiling, product blending and ship loading.
