We are looking for an experienced Process Engineer to take us to the next level of becoming Best Operator.

Reporting to the Superintendent Quality and working in a collaborative community, you will: 

  • Provide technical support and advice to Production, General Works and Maintenance crews and frontline leaders

  • Analyse and monitor  field and wash plant performance through daily, weekly and monthly reporting formats

  • Prepare and distribute harvest and shipping plans

  • Identify process and flows bottlenecks, and implement practical solutions to resolve

  • Engage external surveyors to conduct regular field and stockpile surveys

  • Conduct investigations into quality non-conformances and implement suitable controls

  • Support quality, ISO9001, Halal and Kosher audits.

What you’ll bring  

  • More than 7 years’ experience in similar roles

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and other team members

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and time management skills

  • Sound analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills

  • Experience in scoping, planning and implementing minor improvement projects

  • Demonstrated understanding of processing unit operations performance and levers to optimise

  • It would be beneficial to have experience in PLC, SCADA and Citect

  • Medium to advanced level in Microsoft office suite

  • Bachelor Degree in Chemical or Process engineering, Chemistry, Metallurgy or equivalent

Where you’ll be workingDampier Salt Limited (DSL), located in Western Australia and comprising 2 solar operations at Dampier and Port Hedland is the world’s largest exporter of seaborne salt, harvesting millions of tonnes each year. DSL focuses on sustainable, premium salt production in thriving environments.

Between the 2 operations there are 53 ponds across 20,000 hectares, operated by a 99% residential workforce.

This position will be based on site at Dampier Operations.
