About the role

We are currently looking for a Process Engineer professional to join our MP&E division based at Paraburdoo to provide technical assistance, support, and expert advice for the Fixed Plant.

Reporting to the MP&E Engineering Superintendent, you will be part of an Engineering team, driven to improving operations at Paraburdoo. In addition to the experience you bring to the role, you will gain further specialized knowledge towards becoming a subject matter expert, develop leadership skills to lead small technical team and experience technical capability uplift in Process Engineering practice.Within these roles you will be:

  • Adhere to all Rio Tinto standards, policies and procedures

  • Actively foster and communicate a positive safety culture to promote safety awareness and compliance, encouraging prioritisation of safety in all activities and operations

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, evaluating and implementing improvement opportunities utilising a range of Rio Tinto best practices

  • Collaborate closely with other functions and stakeholders in the performance of duties

  • Provide appropriate coaching, mentoring and technical support to Fixed Plant Processing

  • Perform plant troubleshooting, optimisation and continuous improvement

  • Ensure plant capacity is fully optimised and production targets are met

  • Investigate deviations from the plan, including identifying and recommending solutions

  • Fixed Plant mass and water (wet plants) balances

  • Provide technical support and advice to fixed plant Operations and Maintenance crews and frontline leaders

  • Validate downtime data in accordance with the RTIO Time Usage Model

  • Report plant performance through daily, weekly and monthly reporting formats

  • Prepare and distribute operating strategies, Problematic Ore Management Plan and measure conformance to plan

  • Prepare QF rate parameter initiatives for review by Central Process Engineering Site Support Team

  • Shut support as required; guidance on screen panel, and processing asset technical queries

  • Interact with suppliers to coordinate (scope, timeframe & costs) analysis and test work conducted external to RTIO

  • Engage with Central Process Engineering Team for in-shift plant optimisation, processing technical queries, interpretation of test work results, sampling guidance, flowsheet and modelling

  • Review and audit AMPLA data and maintain health of codesSolution Presentation: Presents proposed solutions and results to team members.

This role will be offered on a days only 8 on, 6 off roster, at our Paraburdoo site within the Pilbara region.
