About the Role
The key responsibility of this role is maximizing process efficiencies at Mining Area C Ore Handling Plant and Train Load Out. You will be required to define and execute projects targeting the improvement of process stability with the intent to exceed safety and performance targets.
In this role you will:
- Be first and foremost focused on creating a culture of care by being a visible safety leader and engaging the operation teams.
- Carry out tasks including analysis of key production performance metrics and benchmarks to support the optimisation of operational performance.
- Constantly look for opportunities to improve work practices and procedures.
- Provide guidance and technical expertise to production teams, to support operations performance to deliver safe, reliable production.
- Engage with Maintenance Planning and Reliability teams to minimise the impact of equipment outages to production.
- Engage with Supply Chain and Mine Planning teams to manage healthy stock levels while reducing re-handling requirements.
Evaluate and deliver Ore Handling Plant and Train Load Out capability inputs for key planning periods i.e., 12 weekly tactical plan, yearly budget and 5-year planning. To learn more about BHP click here
About You
To be successful in this role, it is preferred you possess the following skills and experience:
- Tertiary qualification in metallurgy, chemical engineering, process engineering or equivalent industry and/or organisational experience
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with ability to liaise and work closely with various departments and teams.
- Systems knowledge of 1SAP & other production systems such as Pi Vision, AMPLA & Citect will be highly advantageous.
- Confident to coach, lead and initiate change.
- Good understanding of standards, process safety systems, including experience with technical management of change processes.
Location:
You will be based at our ‘Area C’ mine site on a 5:2/4:3 fly-in fly-out roster. Our Area C mine is located approximately 100kms Northwest of Newman, West Australia. The outstanding facilities at the FIFO village include a fully equipped gym, swimming pool, netted cricket pitch, tennis and basketball court, beach volleyball court and recreation room including a pool table, darts and table tennis. All rooms at the village have their own ensuite bathroom, television, refrigerator and air-conditioning.
