About the role

Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs.

We are looking for two Project Engineers to join the Greater Brockman divisional capital team, to provide end to end management of a diverse portfolio of brownfield projects ranging from $1M - $30M across the Greater Brockman Region.

Reporting to the Superintendent Projects your key responsibilities will include:

  • Knowledge of project management (scoping, planning, scheduling, resource planning, and cost estimation) and experience as member of a small to medium-sized project team
  • Prepare and review estimates, budgets, forecasts, schedules, and execution plans
  • Monitor project progress against budget and forecasted schedule
  • Drafting bluesheets and capital expenditure applications (CEAs)
  • Maintain effective and on-going communications between key stakeholders and contractor parties
  • Foster strong relationships with all partners in the project stages

About you 

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Experience in project engineering with brownfields mining experience highly regarded
  • Well-developed people influencing, engagement and communication skills.
  • Capable of writing conclusive reports and articulating project benefits and challenges
  • Mature approach to issues and strong decision-making skills
  • Proven ability in safety leadership in the mining or relevant industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Project Management)
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite of applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Teams)
  • Experience in using SAP

It will also be beneficial if you have:

  • Certified in project management or project management professional

Where you will be working

Located 60km north-west of Tom Price, Brockman is wholly owned and operated by Rio Tinto. Opened in 2010, this open pit operation offers a family friendly fly in fly out roster with state-of-the-art camp facilities.

The Greater Brockman Operations consist of Brockman 2, Brockman 4, Nammuldi and Silvergrass. Driving the latest technological advancements, the open-pit mines offer an avenue for opportunity and career progression.

This role is for applicants residing in or willing to permanently relocate to Western Australia. Rio Tinto offers Fly in and fly out options from Perth, our regional FIFO hubs and the opportunity to live in our residential towns where applicable.
