About the role

We are looking for Project Engineers (Civil, Electrical, Structural Mechanical Piping [SMP])to join the Robe Valley Project Delivery team and provide end to end management of a diverse portfolio of projects (<$2M).
Reporting to the Senior Engineer your key responsibilities will include:
- Knowledge of project management (scoping, planning, scheduling, resource planning, and cost estimation)
- Prepare and review estimates, budgets, forecasts, schedules, and execution plans
- Monitor project progress against budget and forecasted schedule
- Drafting bluesheets and capital expenditure applications (CEAs)
- Maintain positive, effective and on-going communications between key stakeholders and contract partners
- Foster strong relationships with all partners in the project stages
- Undertaking quality Leadership in Field activities to review current activities, practices and processes, and identifying any gaps for improvement
About you
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- Proven safety leadership skills in the mining or relevant industry
- Well-developed people influencing, engagement and communication skills
- Mature approach to issues and strong decision-making skills
- Capable of writing conclusive reports and articulating project benefits and challenges
- Proficient in Microsoft suite of applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Teams, Project)
- Have a good understanding in the use of SAP
- Experience in project engineering with brownfields mining experience is highly desirable
- Experience in overseeing Contractor Management and the Iron Ore Contractor Management System (CMS) is highly desirable
- Hold an Australian “C” Class manual drivers’ license

This role is for applicants residing in or willing to permanently relocate to Western Australia. Rio Tinto offers fly in and fly out options from Perth, our regional FIFO hubs and the opportunity to live in our residential towns where applicable.
