About the role

We are looking for a Project Engineer to join the Gudai-Darri Project Delivery team, to provide end to end management of a diverse portfolio of projects (<$2M).

Reporting to the Superintendent Project Delivery, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Knowledge of project management (scoping, planning, scheduling, resource planning, and cost estimation)
  • Prepare and review estimates, budgets, forecasts, schedules, and execution plans
  • Monitor project progress against budget and forecasted schedule
  • Drafting bluesheets and capital expenditure applications (CEAs)
  • Maintain effective and on-going communications between key stakeholders and contractor parties
  • Foster strong relationships with all partners in the project stages

About you 

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • 3- to 5 years work experience in project engineering with Non-process Infrastructure & Construction experience highly regarded
  • Well-developed people influencing, engagement and communication skills
  • Capable of writing conclusive reports and articulating project benefits and challenges
  • Mature approach to issues and strong decision-making skills
  • Proven ability in safety leadership in the mining or relevant industry
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite of applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Teams, Project)
  • Experience in using SAP
  • Australian “C” Class manual drivers’ liscense

It will also be beneficial if you have:

  • Certified in project management or Agile/Kanban project management Certification.

This role is for applicants residing in or willing to permanently relocate to Western Australia. Rio Tinto offers fly in and fly out options from Perth, our regional FIFO hubs and the opportunity to live in our residential towns where applicable.
