About the Role

Reporting to the Port Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for managing the Port capital portfolio. You will liaise with three project delivery groups providing guidance and support. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Work with the Port Managers and Superintendents to build the capital pipeline.
  • Manage the development of the 5-year plan (5YP) Capex portfolio and 2-year budget (2YB).
  • Development of the business case and Investment Approval Request for projects.
  • Develop, schedule, and manage the identification and selection phase of projects for all departments within the Port business.
  • Undertake the definition and execution phase for projects as required.
  • Manage the portfolio cost according to budget and rectify variances.
  • Ensure that progress on the nominated projects is monitored and the status of those projects is reported regularly. Ensure that action is taken to address deviations from the adopted project program.
  • Prioritise capital projects for endorsement by the Engineering Manager.
  • Carry out investigations and feasibility studies of future engineering projects.
  • Support the ongoing development and management of financial systems, business processes, internal controls, and quality improvement strategies with respect to project and contract management.

This position will be offered on a 5 day on 2 day off residential roster or a FIFO 5/2/4/3 will be considered, flexible working arrangement can be reviewed. 

About You

As the successful applicant you will possesses the following:

Skills and Experience.

  • Tertiary/Degree qualification in Project Management or experience delivering capital projects
  • High level of stakeholder management  
  • A proven track record of safety management
  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office suite and Primavera P6
  • Demonstrated written and oral English language proficiency
  • Requires detailed knowledge of procedures related to the execution of engineering projects
  • Knowledge of bulk handling terminal operations will be advantageous
