Cannington

Our Cannington operation is one of the world's largest producers of silver and lead.  Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometres west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville. Cannington mine provides on-site accommodation including meal services, as well as sporting and gym facilities.

About the role

This role is a Permanent 4:3 dayshift roster, with every 4th week working from home, having a great work-life balance. FIFO from Townsville or Brisbane.

We seek applications for Reliability Engineers for our Asset Management Team. Reporting to the Senior Reliability Engineer, you will face exciting challenges that are aligned with our breakthroughs, supporting us to develop Asset Management solutions that will support us to guarantee everyone will go home safe and well, as well as deliver our business goals. You will achieve this through reliability improvements and defect elimination techniques focusing mainly on Heavy Mobile Equipment (Haul trucks, Loaders, Development Drills, etc.). You will also develop and improve maintenance strategies using your analytical thinking to deliver the best balance between cost x risk x performance and much more!

Other key role responsibilities include but aren’t limited to

  • Identify problems and/or improvements based on target deviation and/or process-specific triggers (proactive value)
  • Prioritise problems and/or improvements based on data
  • Analyse, make recommendations and solve problems and/or improvements by applying appropriate analysis techniques such as root cause analysis, five whys, FMEA, RAM analysis, etc.;
  • Responsible for improving area performance through contributing to and executing improvement and SAMP initiatives and communicating progress upwards in the M&E Improvement Cadence

About You:

  • 3-5 years experience in mining or heavy industries 
  • Analytical thinker who can identify problems and devise effective solutions.
  • Results driven who strives to achieve the best outcomes for my business
  • The ability to work unsupervised, find solutions independently, and collaborate with others in a team setting.
  • Experience in Asset Management, Reliability Engineering, and Operational readiness projects. 
  • Highly skilled in the use of qualitative reliability techniques, such as root cause analysis (Kepner-Trigoe, Apollo, etc.), FMEA and others

Qualifications for this position are: 

  • Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering
  • Trade Qualification with relevant tertiary study
