About the Role

We are currently operating at record-breaking production rates and we continue to do this with finding liked-minded people that have a real passion for improvement and achievement.

We are seeking a suitable candidate who models our values and company purpose to fulfil the role of Reliability Engineer Electrical –Fixed plant Maintenance. You will be a contributing member of the Site Reliability Team and working closely with our stakeholders and customers like Site Operations Team and Capital Projects Delivery Team.

Reporting to the Lead Engineer Reliability , you will be required to:

  • Analyse key reliability data to identify and implement optimisation/improvements to constantly improve plant reliability and help our in-house customers to achieve business goals.

  • Engage in daily safety activities and discussions to promote achievement of personal and team safety goals

  • Lead and participate in root cause analysis investigations on breakdowns to eliminate defects.

  • Lead and participate in high value improvement projects 

  • Manage the lifecycle of equipment by ensuring the effectiveness of strategies including offsite repairs and manage the integrity of equipment data and records.

  • Design and deploy fit for purpose maintenance strategies through the Failure Mode Analysis & Effect (FMEA) process for new equipment,

  • Develop work instructions or similar documentation in alignment with the maintenance strategy and requirements for maintenance tasks.

This role can either be residential at Newman on a 5:2 roster, or FIFO from Perth to Newman on a 5:2/4:3 roster ; flexible arrangements can be discussed.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills and attributes:

  • A degree in Engineering ( Electrical Power/Utility)
  • Proven problem solving skills with Reliability Engineering concepts and with experience of using tools such as FMEA, RCA, or similar.
  • Strong working experience in Electrical Power Distribution, Switchyards, Substations, HV (11KV) and LV switchgear, transformers etc
  • Strong working experience in maintenance and/or reliability engineering in Mining or Oil and Gas industry.
  • Have a strong experience in Work Management and Material Master Data Management particularly in the SAP environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Electrical Power System design principles, compliance to standards
  • Sound knowledge of Australian Standards and WHS Regulations.
  • Strong engagement skills and a customer focused mindset to constantly communicate effectively and build mutually beneficial relationships with our Customers.
  • Demonstrate the confidence to lead by example, hold yourself and others accountable and coach others in ‘Safety Leadership’
