About the Role

Reporting to the Lead Reliability Engineer (Port Maintenance Reliability), you will provide technical support, advice and solutions for the Fixed Plant Maintenance team whilst focusing on enhancing equipment reliability and availability.  In addition; you will also review and improve operating and maintenance procedures, thereby actively contributing to achieving long-term, measurable improvements in performance and efficiency.  

With this position you have the opportunity to choose between a FIFO 5/2 4/3 roster or Residential arrangement.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Devise and execute improvement initiatives to address identified issues, ensuring compliance to procedures.
  • Initiating and conducting root cause analysis on plant equipment based on safety, non-compliance to planned availability or unpredicted failures
  • Producing operating standards, procedure, task lists and work instructions
  • Monitoring costs and developing a maintenance budget based on the preventative and corrective maintenance work strategies in 1SAP
  • Initiating Opex / Capex / MOC (Management of Change) engineering requests on behalf of the Maintenance function to improve equipment safety and reliability
  • Liaise with contractors for various activities associated with project work
  • Building cross-functional relationships with other Reliability sub-functions, Maintenance, Production and Engineering teams.
  • Be self-motivated, ensuring that operating and maintenance targets are achieved
  • Assist in ensuring projects in relevant area are delivered with correct Operational Readiness requirements by providing guidance to project teams or Engineers

About You

As the successful candidate you will possess the following:

  • Bachelor of Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • 1SAP experience
  • Experience working as an Engineer in a Maintenance / Reliability function
  • Strong engineering aptitude with practical experience relevant to mining or related industry is necessary
  • Contract management experience in the maintenance area would be highly regarded
  • Minimum of C class Drivers Licence
