About the Role
Reporting to the RSM Plant Lead Reliability Engineer, this is an integral role in achieving long-term, measurable improvements in performance and efficiency focusing on reliability. The role will be based at Port Hedland, on a 5/2 or 5/2,4/3 roster offering Residential and FIFO options. You will help drive with the following responsibilities:
- Monitoring and analysis of BHP’s plant performance, reliability and costs to define the department priorities;
- Identifying potential risks to the asset and the business;
- Developing, optimizing and governing maintenance strategies based on RCM principles;
- Defect elimination through the application of best practice problem solving tools and techniques (RCA, 5 Whys etc);
- Provide technical support and recommendations based on findings from data analysis, testing and engagement with internal and external stakeholders including OEM, SMEs and maintainers.
About You
You will have a logical and analytical mind-set with a passion for problem solving and continuous improvement, and the ability to work collaboratively with team members and other stakeholders in order to deliver outcomes and achieve organizational objectives. The following attributes are essential :
- Tertiary/ Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering;
- Experience in Reliability engineering will be highly regarded;
- Experience in Rolling Stock Plant equipment and machinery will be highly regarded;
- Knowledge of condition monitoring techniques advantageous;
- Understanding of reliability and asset management principles will be beneficial;
- Proficiency in 1SAP maintenance components preferable;
- Ability to influence, engage with & communicate effectively across multiple levels, business units, functional areas and external stakeholders;
- A high commitment to safety, quality, attention to detail and procedures.
