ABOUT THE ROLE 

This role is a Permanent position on 4-day, 10-hour weekly or 9-day fortnight roster. Based at our Worsley Alumina Refinery, it’s a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (45 minutes) and other nearby scenic communities. 

As the Senior Engineer Electrical you will be responsible for providing high voltage power systems expertise, supporting operations, maintaining technical standards, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and legislation at Worsley Alumina.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

• Manage a team of electrical engineers – including technical support on Arc Flash Analysis, Capital Projects electrical detail designs, scope of works and commissioning 
• Maintaining site electrical engineering standards and ensuring compliance to relevant processes and standards, statutory legislation, Fatal Risk Controls, and Industry, Australian or Government Standards
• Liaising with Western Power and AEMO on Generator Performance Standards – including overseeing consultants performing DigSilent Powerfactory modelling on Generation Systems
• Ensure any Engineering services provided to the operation meet relevant standards and are aligned to designed/agreed operating principles.

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

• Ability to lead of team of electrical engineers and collaborate and build relationships across teams for successful outcomes.
• Proven expertise in high voltage power systems, including generation.
• Experience in Powertools for Windows (PTW) and DigSilent Powerfactory is beneficial
• Strong problem-solving abilities and proactive approach to continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication skills, with a focus on clear, supportive guidance and teamwork.
• Eligibility to register as Professional (Chartered) electrical engineer with Engineers Australia

Qualifications for this position are:  

• Degree in Electrical Engineering
