About the Role

This role is responsible for preparing, delivering, and driving the weekly mining schedule at Carrapateena. This includes the mining tasks such as development and production as well as the additional tasks from departments such as Ventilation, Mine Projects, Geotech & Engineering Maintenance. You will generate physicals that align with the Quarterly and 13-Week schedule ensuring that tasks and interactions are scheduled in to be completed safely and effectively.

This will be achieved through interactions with multiple internal stakeholders, including but not limited to mine contract partners, mine design, ventilation, geology, geotechnical, electrical and mine projects. You will act as a key interface in communicating mine priorities, tracking performance, and driving compliance to plan. 

Driving compliance includes running daily and weekly interaction meetings onsite as well as being involved in both daily and weekly compliance meetings. A leader in the mining operations team this role has great impact on the short-term direction of Carrapateena.

Reporting to the Senior Short Term scheduling engineer, who delivers the 13-Week schedule, you will be exposed to medium term mine plans with the responsibility to see these executed in the short term.

This role comes with both great responsibility and great reward for finding solutions in a fast-paced environment at an exciting time in an outstanding mine. 

This role is based at Carapateena on an 8 / 6 FIFO roster from either Adelaide or Pt Augusta.

About You

  • Your previous experience in underground mining; SLC experience highly regarded
  • Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering
  • Practical mining experience in both development and production mining activities
  • A proven commitment to safety
  • Experience in scheduling short term mine plans highly regarded.
  • Exposure to the key mining disciplines of Drill & Blast, Ventilation, Geotech & Operations
  • Ability to interact successfully with multiple internal stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Microsoft Excel competency required with Deswik.CAD & Sched experience beneficial
