Entry Level Miners (Underground Nippers)

CSA Mine is looking for Entry Level Miners (Nippers) to join the team. These are entry level positions with no direct mining experience necessary as full training will be provided to the successful applicants. This is an excellent opportunity for interested people to join a well-established operation that recognises achievement and offers genuine career opportunities. You will work in one of the world’s most iconic mining districts, which has the second highest grade copper mine in the country. 

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Having a strong commitment to safety including performing pre-start checks, PRA’S and the installation of barricades and signage
• The safe operation of plant and equipment ensuring all housekeeping is kept to a high standard
• Assistance with underground rehabilitation works
• Communication of accurate and timely information to Mine Control and Cross Shift
• Delivery, pick up and the transport of heaving mining consumables and personnel

About you:

• Australian Manual Driver’s Licence (minimum P2)
• Previous experience in a labour-intensive, physical role, i.e. farming, trades, labourer (preferable)
• Committed to a site-specific roster working both days and nights

Conditions

This is a residential position and is offered on 7/7 roster. 12 weeks of free transit accommodation and paid relocation assistance is provided to assist the successful applicant to source their own accommodation locally. CSA also provides Pool & Gym Reimbursements to our employees and their dependants.

Located an eight-hour drive to Sydney, nine-hour drive to Melbourne, and a quick three-hour drive to Dubbo, Cobar is a fascinating town rich in mining heritage and natural attractions. Entertainment options include restaurants, pubs, and clubs for dining out. You will be kept busy with a bowling and golf club, rugby and rugby league teams, race club, pony club, Olympic size swimming pool, gym – and more! The town boasts beautiful parks, two reservoirs, picnic areas and playgrounds.
