Environment Officer

About The Role
This exciting role of Environmental Officer is available due to internal transfer. Reporting to the Environmental Superintendent and working within a small but high-performance management team, you will provide environmental support and oversight across the entire Narrabri mining operation with a key focus on all relevant statutory approvals, environmental management plans and community expectations.

What You’ll Do

• Liaise with consultants and contractors to ensure timely submission of reports, completion of field monitoring requirements, and completion of other general work.
• Manage costs of field monitoring requirements, and completion of other general work.
• Work into building and running the GIS system and integrate this with the field operations - we will provide the training and development for you to own this as your own project.
• Assist with the development and maintenance of environmental management plans.
• Take ownership for own health and safety and have an obligation to take reasonable care for the health and safety of others.

What You’ll Bring

• Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science or related discipline
• Prior experience in the mining industry will be highly regarded
• You will have a high level of initiative, self-management and organisational skills
• You will have had prior experience in MS Office suite
