About the Role
We currently have an opportunity to join our BMA Environment team as an Environment Specialist. The Environment Specialist role is accountable for supporting execution of the BMA Contaminated Land Investigation program, as well as providing support to site operational teams in delivery of improvement projects, Environmental Management System (EMS) governance and compliance programs. You will utilise your excellent relationship building and people skills to deliver a wide range of environmental services and initiatives.
This role is offered in Brisbane or the Bowen Basin on a residential 5:2 roster reporting directly to the BMA Environment Superintendent. Flexible work options will be considered.
In this role you will be required to:
- Provide technical and logistics support to the BMA Contaminated Land program
- Work in partnership with operational site-based teams to implement environmental improvement projects;
- Interface with operational and asset teams to facilitate administration and governance of the BMA Environmental Management System, including risk management and reporting on site environmental performance;
- Interact and consult with operational teams to provide technical environmental advice and support;
- Provide support to operational environmental teams to complete regulatory/compliance activities and reporting;
- Manage third-party contracts for completion of asset-wide projects and compliance programs.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be able to work both independently and as part of a team. Attention to detail will be a vital attribute, along with strong business acumen and the ability to build consultative and influential relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
You will also have:
- Tertiary Qualification in Environmental Management, Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering;
- Site-based experience within the resources industry;
- Experience in addressing legislative environmental requirements;
- Experience in contaminated land investigation and management will be highly regarded;
- Strong organisational and inter-personal skills;
- Current Australian Drivers licence.
