Environment Superintendent

Red 5 is an established and successful ASX 200 gold producer and explorer in an active expansion phase. The recent merger of equals with Silver Lake Resources has created a leading mid-tier ASX Gold producer, with three operating centres in Western Australia and one Canadian operation.

THE ROLE:

We are looking for an experienced Environment Superintendent to take ownership of site environmental compliance for our King of the Hills (KOTH) operation, incorporating the satellite Darlot mine. Reporting directly to the General Manager Operations - King of the Hills, your role will provide leadership to environment obligation management, meeting regulatory conditions and compliance, approval applications, community engagement, and associated support for our operations. The KOTH operation is comprised of two underground mines, an open pit mine, and 5.5 Mtpa Processing plant and associated Tailings facilities.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Manage delivery of functional support to the site team on environment statutory requirements, regulatory conditions, approvals, compliance, and associated information
• Identify regulatory priorities and improvement opportunities to support the achievement of the site’s strategic objectives 
• Oversee suitable risk assessment programs to ensure adherence to the required standards and practices
• Liaise with relevant authorities, regulatory bodies, and community stakeholders in respect to site related environment issues
• Implement the site environment management system
• Lead the site environment team to ensure all activities meet Red 5 business needs and work health and safety requirements

ABOUT YOU:

You are an experienced professional with a depth of experience in Mining-related environmental management. You have excellent experience in approvals and reporting to regulators, coupled with strong leadership skills, both with your direct reports and the wider site leadership team. 

Key factors to your success include:

• Tertiary qualification in Environment Science or similar
• Strong level of competency in Microsoft Office and GIS applications
• 10 years’ experience in an environmental function within the Mining sector
• WA C class Driver’s license
