Environmental Advisor – Governance

Work Location: Fortescue Centre & Bennett St; Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

Roster: Monday to Friday

Role overview:

An opportunity currently exists for an Environmental Advisor to join our Perth based Environment Governance team. The role will be responsible for providing support to the Environment Governance function to achieve agreed deliverables, including assisting with the environmental management plan and procedure portfolio, implementation of the communication strategy, delivery of the Global Environment Model and development of training.  

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Assist with developing environmental management plans and procedures for Fortescue’s sites and projects. 
  • Assist with the delivery of the environmental communications strategy to improve environmental awareness and drive continual improvement in environmental performance, including development of communication packages, posters, articles, and campaigns. 
  • Assist with the delivery of the Global Environmental Model, including providing support and guidance to environment teams operating under the EMS model 
  • Assist with the development of training and guidance to the business on the broad environment function. 

Education and Experience: 

  • Demonstrated resource sector experience
  • Tertiary qualifications within an Environmental Science, Management or Engineering discipline 
  • Good report writing, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to organise, coordinate and prioritise effectively  
  • A strong understanding of Microsoft Office Software and GIS software (ArcGIS)
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Pilbara Environment
