Cadia Valley Operations is located in Central Western New South Wales, approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional township of Orange and a convenient three hours from the capital city of Sydney. Employees reside in varied accommodation options in and around the district of Orange with the surrounding area’s occupied by wineries, stone fruit orchards, farming and national parks.

Who we’re looking for
You will be a committed and dedicated professional looking to grow in the environmental field. You will have completed a degree in the environmental management fields and have some practical field and data recording experience that can be transferred into the role. You will be diligent in data integrity, have a passion for learning and enjoy field work thoroughly.
You will be a strong communicator who can build networks and develop interpersonal relationships quickly. The environmental technician will be supporting the team with a focus on monitoring.
Other responsibilities include:
- Implementing all environmental and compliance-based considerations (including, but not limited to dust, blasting, noise, water, weeds, rehabilitation, weather, bushfire, waste, heritage)
- Reporting and acting on maintenance issues related to all equipment.
- Implementing improvement initiatives, implementation plans and outcomes.
- Promoting adherence to company policies and safe practices.
- Ensuring quality data entry into systems
- Ensuring all monitoring is compliant and CoC’s are correctly undertaken.
- Strong at risk identification and reporting and assists in management and mitigation.
- Building the capacity of others in monitoring
- Data integrity and software program inputs for all monitoring requirements
- Execution of processes and procedures for data collection, safe work practices, and efficient methods of work
You will also possess the following:
- Tertiary qualification in environment or a mining related discipline.
- Experience in compliance and environmental monitoring (desirable)
- Experience in mining operations (desirable)
