Established in Western Australia in 2003, Fortescue is a global green technology, energy and metals company, recognised for its culture, innovation and industry leading development of infrastructure, mining assets and green energy initiatives.
Join a dynamic team supporting major projects across Decarbonisation, Green Power, Infrastructure and Mobility, including HME and LME.
We’re building a pipeline of Project, Senior and Lead Cost Controllers to support projects across Fortescue’s business. Depending on your experience, you could contribute to or lead cost control across major construction and execution projects. Mining experience is highly regarded.

- Lead Cost Controllers
Successful applicants will partner with project teams to help keep projects on track and support sound decisions through effective cost management and clear reporting.
Key Responsibilities
What you may be involved in
- Preparing and monitoring budgets, forecasts and cash flow.
- Tracking costs, commitments and actuals, and investigating variances.
- Preparing cost reports and turning financial data into useful insights.
- Supporting month-end processes, including accruals and reconciliations.
- Maintaining cost structures and data across project systems.
- Reviewing contractor claims, invoices and payment documentation.
- Identifying cost risks and supporting practical actions to manage them.
- Working with project controls, project teams, finance, procurement and contractors.
- At senior and lead levels, improving processes and supporting or developing team members.
About you
We welcome expressions of interest from people at different career stages, from developing cost control professionals to experienced senior and lead practitioners. Your background may include project cost control, project controls, finance or commercial work in a project-based environment.
You’ll bring sound analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders. Experience with SAP and advanced Excel is valuable; familiarity with Omega PIMS or Power BI may also be useful. Relevant qualifications and experience will depend on the opportunity.
