We are a global leader in hard rock underground mining; together with African Underground Mining Services (AUMS) we operate in Australia, India and across Africa in Egypt, Ghana, Tanzania, Botswana and Burkina Faso. New projects will see Barminco and AUMS grow to over 4,500 employees in 2020.
Due to an expansion within the group across our African Operations, Barminco Underground Mining Services are currently seeking a suitably experienced Emergency Response Training (ERT) Co-ordinator to join our Operations based in Africa.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the co-ordination and day to day maintenance of Emergency Response & Training functions. You will provide advice and technical support to both contractors and staff, including expats and our workforce of National employees.
Your ability to engage, involve and provide supportive is paramount. Living and working in different countries and adapting to other cultures can be challenging yet rewarding.
Minimum Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in OHS;
- Certificate IV Assessment & Training and the ability to deliver training through multiple media. Trainers will be required to deliver both theory and practical training;
- Ability to conduct quality risk assessments, investigations and report writing
- Extensive background in the Underground Mining industry, with a working knowledge of multiple disciplines and experience in Mines Rescue is preferable;
- Ability to engage, communicate and influence Managers and Employees including Non English speaking nationals;
- Exceptional organisational and communication skills.
- Minimum 5 years underground mining experience.
