Peabody is seeking experienced ERZ Controllers to join our team at Centurion Mine, located approximately 160 kilometres west of Mackay. Multiple opportunities are available across Outbye, Development and Longwall.

In this critical frontline leadership role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient execution of mining activities while maintaining compliance with statutory requirements and site standards. You will lead crews underground, drive operational performance and play a key role in fostering a high-performing safety culture across one of Australia's newest longwall operations.

Your Impact

  • Perform statutory and compliance inspections in accordance with legislation and the Centurion SHMS.

  • Ensure production processes and mining equipment are operated safely and efficiently.

  • Coordinate and oversee maintenance activities in line with statutory and site requirements.

  • Facilitate crew meetings, pre-starts and shift communication sessions.

  • Drive the safe achievement of production targets and operational objectives.

  • Promote proactive hazard identification, risk management and continuous improvement.

  • Provide leadership, coaching and support to underground crews.

  • Maintain compliance with site procedures, safety systems and operational standards.

  • Contribute to a positive and accountable safety culture through visible leadership.

  • Support the ongoing success and growth of Centurion's underground operations.

About You

You are an experienced underground coal mining professional with strong leadership capability and a genuine commitment to safety, operational discipline and team performance.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Deputy's Certificate of Competency or Third Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency.

  • Underground coal mining supervisory experience.

  • S1, S2, S3 and Risk Management and Investigation competencies.

  • Strong safety and risk management focus.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams.

  • Strong understanding of statutory obligations and underground mining legislation.

  • Proven ability to achieve operational targets while maintaining a safety-first mindset.

  • Commitment to Safety, Integrity, Operational Excellence and Courageous Leadership.
