Estimator - Civil

Due to our ongoing growth, Macmahon are currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Civil Estimator to join the Perth based estimating team – occasionally travelling to sites as operationally required.

Role Responsibilities (not limited to):

• Assisting in preparation and submission of tender documentation
• Estimation of bulk earthworks and civil projects
• Utilising civil estimating software (Expert Estimator)
• Utilising project scheduling software
• Ability to plan and execute projects
• Developing detailed timelines
• Tender and contract negotiations
• Development of tender level management plans and other supporting documentation
• Read and understand detailed designs for current work
• Technical support for feasibility studies and budget forecasts.
• Report writing, and recommendations for continual improvement
• Assist in implementing new technical solutions into workplace where required
• Improve company systems & procedures where applicable
• Liaise with contractors, vendors and other stakeholders on a technical level and present reports, publications and presentations in a professional manner
• Contribute to Civil Engineering and Estimating Community of Best Practice
• Great interpersonal and communication skills

Ideal skills and experience: 

• 5+ years’ experience in a similar role
• Experience in using Expert Estimator Software
• Experience in using scheduling software – MS Project Essential (P6 desired)
• Tertiary degree in Engineering or equivalent
• Previous exposure to large scale bulk earthworks civil projects 
• Experience in WA Mining industry
• Commitment to raising the profile of Macmahon technical capability, building trust and rapport with our clients
• Proven experience contributing to project improvement and team success
• Track record of behaviour and attitude that enhances inclusion, teamwork and promotes harmony
