Estimator - Underground

As an Estimator - Underground at Macmahon, you will be responsible for evaluating and preparing tender documents, assisting with the progression of awarded tenders, and providing ongoing support to sites. You will be required to handle multiple tasks, maintain excellent communication with clients and colleagues, and ensure that contracts are evaluated and executed efficiently. Your expertise will be critical in helping us deliver quality underground mining projects on time and within budget.

About the role
Evaluate and prepare tender documents for submission, including follow-up on queries and clarifications.
Attend tender site visits both domestically and internationally.
Assist in progressing awarded tenders through to successful project start-up.
Provide ongoing support to sites, including the establishment of progress claims, evaluation of contract variations, and rise and fall calculations.
Collect and analyse contract performance data.
Liaise with clients, suppliers, and colleagues to maintain efficient processes for the evaluation of contracts pre- and post-award.
Collate and present additional data as requested for specific contracts.
Provide mining engineering services and professional expertise to clients and potential clients.
Assist with the evaluation and assessment of mining projects.

About you 

• Tertiary degree in Mining Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in underground mining, with a strong understanding of underground mining processes and estimation.
• Excellent Excel spreadsheet skills, with the ability to analyse and present complex data effectively.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple workloads simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and attention to detail.
