Mining Operator Excavator

Work Location: Christmas Creek - Fortescue’s Christmas Creek mine is located on the traditional lands of the Nyiyaparli people.

Roster: Starting roster is 7D7N7R then offering flexibility with either a 2:1 or 2:2 – FIFO ex Perth/Port Hedland/Karratha/Broome/Fitzroy Crossing/Kununurra

Fortescue is seeking experienced excavator operators who have operated some or all of the following equipment in a mining environment:

  • Ideally have proven experience on Liebherr 9400, 996, CAT 6040 loading autonomous dump trucks.
  • Additional experience on the follow is favourable:
    • D10T/D11T Dozer
    • 854 Wheel Dozer

As a skilled Mining Operator, you will be responsible for operating mobile equipment at maximum efficiency, while maintaining safety, environmental and heritage standards to achieve required operational targets for the business.

  • Maintain assets to operational capacity
  • Constantly strive to increase process efficiency
  • Demonstrate behaviour that aligns with FMG values
  • Comply with Zero Harm principles on a daily basis

Education and Experience:

  • Ability to skilfully operate some or all the equipment above
  • Mobile equipment operation in the mining industry
  • Ability to read mine plans
  • Knowledge of Mine Safety & Inspection and OHS Act Regs
  • WA Unrestricted Class C Driver's License
  • Communication and interpersonal skills - two-way operation
