The Tropicana project is located 330 kilometres northeast of Kalgoorlie on the edge of Western Australia’s Great Victoria Desert. Macmahon’s scope of work includes mine planning, drill and blast, load and haul, crusher feed and other associated works.

Production will peak at an average of 60 million tonnes per annum. Macmahon has invested about $130 million in mining fleet, minor equipment and infrastructure.

We are currently looking for an experienced SHOVEL & EXCAVATOR OPERATOR who can be responsible for operating CAT 6060, 6040 and Hitchi 5600 Excavators in a production mining environment. 

This role requires a level of proficiency in operating different machinery to ensure a safe and efficient mining operation. 

About the role

•    Tropicana Gold mine (Permanent rooms available)
•    FIFO from Perth to Kalgoorlie 
•    2:1 night / day roster
•    Market leading rate
•    Plus 7% market uplift allowance - paid quarterly

About you
•    Previous experience in a similar role in an open-cut mining environment
•    Extensive experience operating excavators such as CAT 6060,6040 and Hitachi 5600
•    Physically fit for the demands of the role
•    Proven ability to operate in a safe and efficient manner
•    Ability to work independently as well as a part of the team
•    Current C Class Drivers Licence
