At Hail Creek, everything we do is about developing our people, optimising our asset and improving our future. We positively impact our people and communities. We strive to be industry leaders – the Mine of Choice.  It’s a culture that fosters pragmatic outcomes where things happen quickly. We promote those ‘out of the box’ ideas to continuously improve and no day is ever the same.  With a large and passionate workforce of over 1,000 people, there is a great opportunity for you to contribute and make an impact.

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Executive Assistant to partner with our Senior Leadership Team to support both operational and HR activities.  Reporting directly to the Human Resources Manager, you will work directly with the Site Leadership Team, providing executive support and collaborating across all teams within our business.

This busy and diverse role will see you undertake a broad range of both administrative and HR related duties including onboarding and offboarding of employees and contractors, travel and diary management, coordinating VIP site visits, purchasing, reconciling and receipting invoices, payroll entries and assisting with reporting requirements.  You will take the lead coordinating key site events and supporting our culture development journey.

You will work autonomously with a large and varied workload and be able to reprioritise your work to suit the needs of the leadership team.

To be successful in this role, you will have experience in maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism coupled with extensive expertise in executive administration, SAP and MS Office suite, and be passionate about maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders to drive great outcomes.

Just as importantly, we’ve worked hard to make sure you feel valued. In return, here are just some of the benefits we offer:
  • Direct employment with Glencore – we are a responsible miner of coal that has a track record of operational excellence
  • A competitive package with lifestyle benefits
  • Annual short term performance bonus
  • 5 weeks Annual Leave per year
  • Access to Coal Mining Industry Long Service Leave - one of the most generous long service leave schemes
  • Provision for Education Assistance if you are wanting to further your studies down the track.
This role is a wonderful opportunity for you no matter your circumstance. You will have the option to either live locally in one of the communities that surround our operation or stay on site in our amazing village. We are only a one and quarter hour drive from the beautiful Mackay hinterland and a two and half hour drive from Airlie Beach and the Whitsunday Islands and have a diverse group of people at our operation commuting from multiple locations in Queensland such as Rockhampton and Townsville, to name a few.

Our people think and act like entrepreneurs.  We have built a culture that rewards dedicated people with a can-do spirit, who take responsibility, and who have the drive to be leaders in their field.  If you are caring, responsive, intuitive, and driven, and can operate within a dynamic environment, this is your chance to become part of a culture that empowers people and drives progression.
