We are seeking experienced and motivated Production Drill Operators to join our Mining Operations team who are responsible for the execution of the mine plan.

Owned and Operated by Yancoal Australia, Mount Thorley Warkworth (MTW) is one of the largest open pit operations in the area. Located 15 kilometres south-west of Singleton in the beautiful Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, MTW relies on both draglines and load haul systems as the current and preferred mining method. Our site operates continuously 24 hours a day, seven days a week and has a long and proud history, employing approximately 1350 people from local and surrounding communities, who are our most valuable asset.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Dragline & Drill Supervisor and working on a 4-panel roster, 12.5 hour shifts, you will be part of a successful team that enjoy what they do and value each other's contributions. In this position, you will also be responsible for the safe operation of MD6310, MD6240, MD6250 and MD6200 drills. The ideal candidates will have a proven track record in open pit mining operations which meet the safe and productive standards expected by Yancoal.

To be successful in the role you will also display the following skills and attributes: • Previous experience operating drills; • Experience with drill navigation systems (Minestar etc); • An eye for detail and an ability to execute mine designs in a timely manner; • Strong communication and time management skills; • Ability to work in a small team to execute the drill & blast plan; • A proven track record with regard to safe and productive operating practices including operating for reliability; • Ability to meet the requirements of this role with regard to shift work and fitness for work; • A positive and proactive attitude; • Current NSW Manual Driver’s license; • Trainer & Assessor qualifications (desirable).
