Owned and Operated by Yancoal Australia, Mount Thorley Warkworth (MTW) is an open cut mine that provides the opportunity to live and work locally. Located 15 kilometres south-west of Singleton in the beautiful Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, MTW relies on both dragline and load haul systems for their continuous operations. The MTW Mine is the largest open cut operation in the region, employing approximately 1,450 people who reside in the local and surrounding communities.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

Yancoal are currently seeking experienced Haul Truck Operators to join our Mount Thorley Warkworth (MTW) Mining Team. Reporting to the Mining Supervisor, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient and productive operations within your allocated crew, while maintaining high standards of safety, productivity and reliability as expected by Yancoal.

Skills and Experience

The successful candidates will display the Yancoal – ‘Our Way’ behaviours in everyday practice and foster a ‘One Team’ culture, along with promoting the Yancoal Values of People, Safety, Innovation, Integrity and Excellence.

To be successful in the role you will also display the following skills and attributes:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience operating mechanical and electric drive Haul Trucks in an open pit coal mining environment;
• A strong commitment to safety, operational excellence and continuous improvement;
• The ability to consistently meet production and performance expectations;
• A proven track record of reliable attendance and strong work performance;
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to a positive safety culture;
• A current NSW Manual Driver’s Licence.
