Exploration Field Assistant

THE ROLE:
We are looking for practical and personable Field Assistant to join our Exploration team, supporting all surface exploration and resource definition projects across Silver Lake’s tenement packages. You are a dependable team member and will add a valuable contribution to the continued success of our Exploration programmes.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Provide assistance to Geologists to ensure that work programmes are completed as planned
- Undertake diamond core processing, including mark-up and orientation, core cutting, sampling and other related measurements
- Ensure RC percussion and AC programmes are conducted to SLR’s standard, with particular reference to sampling and QAQC protocols
- Ensure all tasks are completed safely and in accordance with company procedures, and in line with the Mines Regulations and Safety Inspection Act
- Undertake other sampling and data collection activities as required
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, Traditional Owners, Landholders and other Departments as directed
- Assist with regional logistics as required
- Maintain Exploration assets in good order
- Complete rehabilitation of drill sites and other related ground disturbance activities.
ABOUT YOU
As an experienced Field Assistant, your high level of attention to detail and hardworking approach will mean you meet and exceed industry best practice for collecting geological data and maintaining quality control process and procedures.
You will be able to demonstrate you have:
- Sound knowledge of safety requirements relevant to exploration
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds
- A positive and constructive attitude and the ability to work within a team
- The ability to work autonomously
- Full C-class manual driver’s licence
- 4WD Certificate highly regarded
- Willingness and ability to travel to remote locations
- Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office software packages
- Familiarity with LogChief software would be highly regarded
- Must be able to complete a National Police Clearance
This long term, secure role is offered on a consistent 8 day on 6 day off roster, FIFO from Perth with mine site camp accommodation provided. You must hold full work rights for Australia and be either based in WA or be prepared to relocate for this role.
