This is a permanent full time position, for an experienced exploration Field Assistant with Diamond core processing and RC drilling experience.

The Vault Minerals Exploration Department drives project advancement across all tenements surrounding the Mount Monger, Deflector, Rothsay, Darlot, and King of the Hill operations, exploring diverse geological settings. With significant investment in exploration, you will be instrumental in identifying and progressing mineral system-wide targets into viable project opportunities. 

Reporting directly to the Exploration Field Supervisor, the purpose of the Field Technician is to provide safe, sustainable, and efficient support to the Exploration team. This will include accurate and timely geological data collection, safely undertaking field exploration activities, and maintaining control processes and procedures to a high standard.

Key responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Provide assistance to Geologists to ensure that work programs are completed as planned
  • Liaise with contractors, suppliers, Traditional Owners, Landholders and other Departments as directed
  • Undertake diamond core processing, including mark-up and orientation, core cutting, sampling and other related measurements
  • Ensure RC percussion and AC programs are conducted to Vault’s standard, with particular reference to sampling and QAQC protocols
  • Ensure all tasks are completed safely and in accordance with company procedures, and in line with the Mines Regulations and Safety Inspection Act
  • Undertake other sampling and data collection activities as required
  • Assist with regional logistics as required
  • Maintain Exploration assets in good order
  • Complete rehabilitation of drill sites and other related ground disturbance activities.

About You 

  • Sound knowledge of safety requirements relevant to exploration.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Hold a valid WA Driver’s License (manual C Class) and 4WD Certificate.
  • Proficient computer skills in MS Office Suite, with exposure to LogChief software advantages.
  • Collecting geological data and maintaining quality control processes and procedures
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and effective analytical and communication abilities.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to remote locations
