Exploration Geologist – All Levels

Work Location: Perth (With field work, as required) - Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

Roster: Monday to Friday (and 14D/7R)

Fortescue is moving at speed to transition into a Global green metals, minerals, energy and technology company. The Exploration Team are seeking passionate exploration geologists, to help with this transition. Fortescue has a significant global exploration portfolio of copper, lithium and other critical minerals and is aggressively exploring.

Reporting to the Superintendent Geology the role will be responsible for planning, development and implementation of exploration projects, including generating new projects.

Key accountabilities will include:

• Complete work as directed by the project geologist
• Compile and interpret historic data
• Geological logging on AC, RC and DD drilling
• Research and synthesis local deposits, geochronology, geology and tectonics
• Work with external or multi-discipline teams to address geological problems

Qualifications and skills required:

• Tertiary qualification gained in Geology or related discipline
• Good knowledge of Western Australian geology preferred
• Ability to synthesise multiple datasets at various scales to justify decision making
• Excellent communication, presentation, report writing and collaboration skills
• High level administrative skills, including the ability to meet deadlines

• Experience in any of the following will be advantageous - Copper, Lithium & Unconventional Lithium, Nickel, REEs and other Critical Minerals exploration
