Senior Tenement Advisor
Work Location: Perth - Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.
Roster: 5:2 roster (Monday to Friday).
Role overview:
The role works within the Tenements & Acquisition team and reports to the Senior Tenement Specialist. This team supports the Projects and Studies team to deliver strategic tenement advice, land access advice and work with the studies team to help deliver new projects for Fortescue. You will also promote compliance, assurance and track obligations in regard to Tenements and access agreements throughout the business. The role will also help maintain the companies’ databases and systems for compliance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering specialist tenure advice to the business as required
- Support Project and Operations activities with land access requests and tenure approvals
- Coordinate land access with other members of the Tenements & Acquisitions team and third parties.
- Ensure compliance and auditing of access agreements and tenement conditions
- Liaise and manage internal and external stakeholders
- Have a broad understanding of land related legislation or associated acts
Education and Experience:
- Excellent written and communication skills as well as an understanding of legal deeds/contracts, obligations and implications
- Ability to understand lateral infrastructure and mining basics
- Ability to support multiple projects and flexible to changing priorities and focus
- A high level of attention to detail with excellent collaborative engagement
- Experience with GIS software and tenement management databases
- Working knowledge the Land Administration Act, Mining Act and State Agreement acts will be highly regarded.
