Come and be a part of this success About the role We have an expression of Interest for enthusiastic and proactive Train Drivers to join our Rail Operations Team across Port Hedland, Newman or Yandi. These roles would be on a 2/2 roster fly-in fly-out from Perth. As an experienced Train Driver, you will play a key role by:
- Operating locomotives and providing operational support in our Rail Operations depots in Port Hedland, Newman and Yandi
- Performing mainline, yard or shunting duties in accordance with our train schedules, relevant standards and work instructions
- Demonstrated commitment to ensuring a safe workplace including willingness to maintain high standards of safety, equipment serviceability, housekeeping and compliance with site procedures
About You
You will have highly developed critical thinking skills, with a natural curiosity to challenge the status quo and an unquenchable thirst for continuous improvement.
You will be highly personable with able to develop deep and effective working relationships with our various rail teams. You will have highly attuned communication skills to break down complex matters to non technical team members and other stakeholders and enable the delivery of exceptional outcomes that achieve organisation objectives and provide legacy improvements.
- Being a committed team player and working in partnership with our other Rail departments to ensure Rail Operations is safely aligned to our wider business
- An unrelenting commitment to the BHP Charter Values and code of conduct, our overriding principles on how we treat each other
- Alignment with the BHP pledge to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility for the highest standards of work
- Experience in the operation of Locomotive hauled trains
- Knowledge of principles and concepts related to train handling
- Certificate IV in Train Driving or equivalent is essential
- Ability to work a 24/7 rotating roster
