Title: Fabrication Workshop Supervisor
Work location: Perth based (Hazelmere)
Roster: 5/2 Roster (Mon to Fri)
In support of Fortescue’s strong focus on green energy and our carbon neutrality targets, one of our key initiatives will be in our Green Fleet projects whereby we will develop and test a range of technologies to power our mining fleet
Based out our new Hazelmere R&D facility and reporting to the Workshop Coordinator, we are presently looking for an experienced Fabrication Supervisor
Key accountabilities will include:
- Delivering a safe working environment to ensure safe execution of all Green Fleet mobile mining Projects. Promoting, coaching and mentoring personnel to engage in our safety systems and procedures
- Leading a small team of boilermakers
- Management of contractors
- Liaising with the Engineering team to execute custom fabrication work to design
- Working closely with the broader workshop execution team to ensure project are delivered to schedule and budget
- Ensuring execution work is well documented through SAP
Qualifications and skills required:
- 3-5 year’s experience in a Maintenance Supervisor role, or similar leadership position
- Relevant Trade Certificate
- Experience with custom fabrication work highly regarded
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to adapt to change in a dynamic environment
- SAP,BMS Excel and Word computer skills
- Ability in interact interpersonally at all level is the organisation
- Ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Ability to manage time effectively
- Understanding of SAP work management processes
- Understanding of Lean principles (5S, Visual Management, waste)
- High level of technical experience and knowledge of mobile maintenance fleet
- Experienced in supervising maintenance teams across multiple work fronts (6 to 12 people)
- Experienced in people management and people development
- Experienced in developing and leading a high level of safety leadership culture
- Experience working with safety management systems
