About the role 

BHP is pleased to announce permanent positions as Development Supervisor’s within our BMA Queensland Coal operations for female candidates who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.

The Female Development Supervisor Program is conducted over 18 months. It has been created to provide an opportunity for those that have strong interpersonal and mentoring skills to allow them to practically learn about our business on the job. The program will enhance current skillsets and behaviours necessary to lead and inspire teams, helping deliver value to our BMA asset and ultimately drive the success of BHP.

We have various travel models - residential, drive-in-drive-out (DIDO) and limited fly-in-fly-out (FIFO) from Brisbane or Cairns. Rosters, in some cases, can be adapted to suit your lifestyle requirements allowing you to balance both your career and your family commitments.

We have various Supervisor development opportunities available in the following areas:

  • Maintenance
  • Production (Must have pit experience)
  • Drill & Blast (minimum 2 years experience in a Drill & Blast environment)
  • Planning

About you

A natural propensity towards coaching and mentoring in your current role will be highly regarded. The safety of your people and those around them will be a key priority. Having previous experience in a similar environment such as Mining, Heavy Industry or similar will help you adapt quickly to the complexities leading in a mining environment can bring.

We would love to hear from you if you have experience in Maintenance, Production, Engineering, Planning or similar industry experience. Having a trade or engineering qualification or maintenance planning background will be advantageous for Maintenance Development Supervisor roles, but this is not an essential requirement of the role, your passion for developing and leading teams will be key.
