About the role
BHP is pleased to announce permanent positions as Trainee Tyre Fitters witthin the Maintenance team at BMA Caval Ridge.
The Female Only Trainee Tyre Fitter Program is conducted over 18-24 months. It has been created to provide an opportunity for those that have strong interpersonal skills and a desire to start a career in Mine Maintenance to allow them to practically learn about our business on the job. The program will enhance current skillsets and behaviours necessary to help deliver value to our BMA asset and ultimately drive the success of BHP.
In this role you will report to the Tyre Bay Supervisor as part of the Maintenance team, carrying out the required training and competency assessments for tyre fitting activities for heavy mobile machinery.
This role is offered on a 7:7 Day Only roster pattern arrangement on a Fly in Fly out (FIFO) from Brisbane or Cairns, or Drive-In-Drive-Out (DIDO) basis.
In this role you will:

Consistently adhere to and follow the established standards and procedures to ensure a safe and efficient daily operation.

Participate in required training and skill development programs to build your expertise as an Earthmoving Tyre Fitter.

Execute tasks to a high standard in alignment with sites safety and health management systems.

Perform both planned and reactive tyre maintenance works on a diverse range of mining equipment whilst under training and guidance of experienced trainers.

Conduct regular preventative maintenance inspections across heavy mobile equipment (HME) fleets.

Demonstrate a strong willingness to learn and adapt to new methods, techniques and site systems.

Collaborate effectively within a team setting, contributing positively to the team environment.

Current mining or trade experience (preferred)

Hold a current Standard 11 (S11) or ability to obtain.

Possess a current C class driver’s license.

Proficient in computer literacy, experience in 1SAP and the Microsoft Office suite (preferred)
