About the Role

In this role you will lead, coach and mentor employees, ensure a safe system of work is in place for each activity.

As a S26 Statutory Supervisor, you are required to ensure compliance with the requirements of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act and Mines Safety Inspection Regulations.

You will contribute to the continuous improvement of our maintenance strategies, communicate the changes to the team, supervise the execution of the daily work schedule and provide feedback on what worked well and the potential opportunities for improvement.

Reporting to the Field Maintenance Superintendent, your duties will include:

  • Manage planned work and unplanned breakdowns to ensure equipment is back in a timely manner and are in good working condition.
  • Supervision of specialist contractors to ensure technical and quality standards are achieved safely.
  • Single point of accountability at work areas ensuring hazard/risk identification, reviewing and signing Task Based Risk Assessments (JHA) and verification that identified controls are in place and working.
  • Completion of supporting and reporting maintenance documentation and 1SAP administration.
  • Report incidents and accidents and collate detailed incident, accident and injury statistics.

Jimblebar 

You will be based at our Jimblebar mine site in the Pilbara region of Western Australia on a fly-in fly-out 8/6 7/7, on days and night shift.    Our FIFO villages have a wide range of facilities and all rooms have their own ensuite bathroom, television, refrigerator and air-conditioning to help you unwind, relax and sleep well.    

About You

Are you an inquisitive, team-spirited and outcome focused individual who is passionate about safety and have the ability to build great relationships within our team, then this is the next role for you!  

You will have significant experience with the operation and maintenance of heavy mining equipment. A strength of yours will be your ability to communicate efficiently, ensuring the development of staff through your influencing and relationship management skills. You will be a proactive, credible and influential member of the leadership team whilst building strong working relationships with key stakeholders.  

Our successful candidate will need to be suitably qualified in order to manage all aspects of the departments’ deliverables and supervisor core routines.

Experience and skills required include:

  • Heavy Diesel, Electrical, Mechanical Fitters trade certification or Tertiary qualification is desirable. 
  • Valid full "C" class motor vehicle licence
  • Supervisory or Step up experience in a mining maintenance environment.
  • Working knowledge of Mine Safety & Inspection Act & Regulations
  • Systems knowledge of maintenance processes (e.g. Work management, reliability, information management, cost control and budgeting processes)
