Field Technician

Work Location: Eliwana 

Fortescue’s Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama & Pinikura (PKKP) People.

Roster:  8D/6R – FIFO ex Perth

Role Overview:

Reporting to the Field Supervisor you will be responsible for collecting production samples from blast cones & sample stations, liaising with multiple stakeholders such as Geology Drill & Blast, and ensuring samples are collected, recorded and submitted correctly in a timely manner. This role is outdoors at all times and will require you to work in the winter and summer weather Pilbara WA conditions.

Key responsibilities include:

• Ensure representative samples are collected from various sources such blast cones and sample stations
• Regular cleaning & inspections of sample stations to ensure quality of results
• Data entry into production sample database
• Make sure samples are recorded correctly in the sample database and dispatched to their destination (on/off-site)

Qualifications and Experience:

• Enjoy working in the outdoors in varied weather conditions
• Demonstrated good written skills through report writing
• Current WA C-Class manual driver’s licence
• Comfortable in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel and Outlook in particular)
• A Telehandler/Manitou ticket is desirable but not essential
• Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential
