We are seeking applications for an experienced Field Technician role to join the Resource Development team at Winu.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out their tasks effectively, productively and in a safe manner, supporting the broader Winu Resource Development project. This role is a great opportunity for someone with field experience to play a vital role within the Winu team. It is a permanent role, site-based on a fly-in fly-out rotation. Reporting to the Field Technician Lead, you will:
- Demonstrate strong safety values and build a proactive team safety culture.
- Support the Resource Development team at Winu to safely and effectively complete drilling programs, to include hydrogeological, RC and diamond drilling.
- Assist with the management of core farm facilities including core logging, photographing, cutting and sampling, and coordination of the sample despatch process.
- Assist with water testing, sampling and logging according to hydrogeological procedures.
- Collecting and despatching of RC Samples, pad inspections and chip photographing.
What you’ll bring
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- Current and unrestricted C-class driving license, HR/MR an advantage.
- Experience working in remote field-based environments with exposure to a wide range of field related tasks.
- Forklift and Telehandler certificate an advantage.
- The ability to make assessments and apply practical judgement to identify hazards and risks and take appropriate mitigating actions.
- The ability to interpret HSE standards to achieve safe and effective practices working in challenging physical environments.
- The ability to develop positive and productive team relationships with all project team members.

The portfolio also includes interests in a non-managed joint venture in Chile, in addition to exploration & evaluation interests and other minor investments.
Winu is a 100% Rio Tinto owned copper-gold mineralisation project in the Yeneena Basin of the Paterson Province in Western Australia. The project is located approximately 130 km north of the Telfer mine and 350 km southeast of Port Hedland. Teams at Winu are taking an agile approach to greenfield project development and being innovative in the way we bring a mine from exploration to production.
