Finance Analyst
Work location: Perth
In this role you will report directly to the Strategic and Financial Planning Manager to assist in the quarterly strategy and financial planning / budgeting process and to monitor and report on progress towards strategic objectives and OKRs set as part of that process. You will also assist the broader Finance team with a range of research, project and strategic tasks, as required.
Key duties and responsibilities will include:
- Assist in the annual and quarterly strategy and financial planning processes for FFI, including:
- Preparing market and competitor research to understand macro and external factors that may impact FFI's strategy.
- Collaboration with business units and regions to gather, evaluate and analyse their budgets and strategic plans over 1,3 and 5yr horizons.
- Preparing SWOT analysis and scenario analysis.
- Preparing financial forecasting models, scenario analysis and papers.
- Monitoring progress against OKRs and preparing OKR reporting.
- Preparation of management papers, reporting and presentation decks for senior management and Board approval.
- Collaborating closely with internal support functions (such as treasury, funding and tax).
- Developing and communicating best practice finance and forecasting tools for use across the FFI businesses and regions.
- Building and maintaining a strong, trusting relationships with business unit and regional finance stakeholders.
- Other research, project and strategic tasks, as required.
Qualifications and skills required:
- A tertiary degree in a business / finance related field, CA / CPA qualifications desirable.
- 2-5yrs experience in a Big 4 accounting firm or in a finance analyst role at a complex and fast-paced organisation, preferably in resources, heavy industry, energy or infrastructure.
- Exceptional numerical, analytical and financial modelling skills, including the ability to distil, synthesize and draw conclusions from large amounts of information and data.
- Excellent business writing and PowerPoint presentation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build strong relationships and influence key stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
- Strong financial acumen, experience in strategic and financial planning / budgeting processes desirable.
- Knowledge of financial and accounting concepts, Excel and enterprise financial planning systems, exposure to SAP and Anaplan desirable.
- Resilient and self-managing with the ability to work autonomously, take initiative, work outside your comfort zone and reliably deliver on tight deadlines.
- A flexible mindset, with a willingness to adapt to changing environment and priorities.
