We are seeking an experienced and proactive Finance Business Partner to join our team based in Mackay and to play a critical role in supporting regional and operational leadership across the business.
Working closely with Regional GMs, Managers and operational stakeholders, you’ll provide strategic financial insight, performance analysis, and commercial support to drive operational excellence and sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Ownership of monthly Regional/Division P&L.
- Report monthly results of the Region.
- Partner with business units to provide financial insights, forecasting, and decision support.
- Develop and maintain financial models to assist in budgeting, forecasting, and business planning.
- Provide variance analysis and key performance indicator (KPI) reporting on weekly and monthly basis.
- Identify risks and opportunities, making proactive recommendations to improve financial outcomes.
- Develop and implement improvements to Emeco's accounting systems and processes with regard to the reporting requirements of all Emeco business groups.
- Partner with regional GM’s, and Maintenance Managers to assist in tracking monthly profitability and provide insight on regional earnings.
- Support cost control and efficiency initiatives to drive profitability.
- Provide financial input into commercial decisions.
- Participate in wider Portfolio Management activities as required including market analysis and operations and ad hoc analyses and project work.
- Ensure all reconciliations are completed and reconciled.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance financial understanding and accountability across departments.
- Lead or support finance-related projects, process improvements, and system enhancements.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAA) or Certified Practising Accountant (CPA), or equivalent.
- 5 years’ experience within an accounting environment.
- Commercial knowledge of the Earthmoving Industry as relevant to financial reporting.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of financial accounting /management accounting principles.
- Analytical and diagnostic skills with the ability to develop best practice solutions.
- Ability to build relationship with stakeholders at multiple levels in multiple locations.
- Ability to influence and communicate effectively across all layers of an organisation and with any stakeholder group.
- Self-reliant contributor.
- Knowledge of what drives equipment productivity in the mining environment.
- Experience with the maintenance of heavy earth moving equipment frequently used in the mining industry.
- Able to manage the capital expenditure program in relation to programming, cost control and allocation.
