We are looking for a Finance Business Partner, Closure to support Rio Tinto Closure, part of Development & Technology (D&T), senior leaders and their leadership teams. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, excellent analytical support and a sophisticated ability to influence senior stakeholders.

This role will drive change through effective use of business analysis and management accounting. You will work with multiple stakeholders to provide advice to the operation and support the development and execution of strategic decision making.

In this role, you will:

  • Be a part of a high performing finance team, partnering to drive business performance, providing decision and execution support to senior leaders and their teams across Rio Tinto Closure.
  • Actively provide finance business partnering support to the Rio Tinto Closure team, including attending and participating in team meetings and workshops.
  • Responsible for planning, forecasting and reporting of actual results.
  • Partner with stakeholders to proactively drive financial analysis, cost discipline and influence outcomes through providing a decision framework supported by insightful and accurate analysis
  • Develop finance capabilities and acumen within the business by working with the functional groups and ensuring fit for purpose system, processes, metrics and reporting
  • Provide support and strategic direction to support financial comprehension and decision making

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

  • Bachelor and/or professional qualification e.g. CA, CPA
  • Advanced excel skills
  • Experience using SAP, Plan and Manage and Anaplan
  • Management accounting or business analysis background
  • Motivated, determined individual with ability to work autonomously and prioritize across multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively both face to face and remotely
  • Ability to engage and build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills
  • Commercial acumen and judgement to provide meaningful insights and influence decisions
  • Experience using PowerBI advantageous
